Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use the App, we collect the following information:

• Authentication Data: First name, last name, and @berkeley.edu email address obtained through Google OAuth.
• User Preferences: Dietary selections (vegan, vegetarian, halal, kosher) and menu interface settings.
• User Content: Reviews and ratings that you submit, which are displayed alongside your account identity.

We do not collect sensitive information beyond what is necessary to provide the App's core functionality.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to authenticate your identity as a UC Berkeley community member, personalize your App experience based on dietary and UI preferences, display your reviews to other users, and maintain or improve the App's features and security.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share information only as necessary to operate the App, including with hosting and infrastructure providers, and as required by law or legal process. Other users of the App may see your posted reviews, which will be attributed to your account identity.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. User Content and Responsibility

Reviews are not anonymous and are tied to your account identity. You are solely responsible for the content you post. Submissions containing NSFW material, hate speech, or otherwise prohibited content may be removed, and your account may be suspended.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active or as required to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated information by contacting us at angad.bhargav@berkeley.edu.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for UC Berkeley students and affiliates and is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us to have it removed.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to the information we hold about you, request corrections, or request deletion by contacting us at angad.bhargav@berkeley.edu. We will comply with applicable legal obligations regarding such requests.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date indicates the latest revision. Continued use of the App after revisions are posted signifies your acceptance of the updated Policy.
